Denny Hamlin came in to the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix facing a lot of adversity with starting at the back with an engine change and a poor handling car. Denny and the FedEx Ground team fought back with everything they had to come home with a 3rd place finish.

Early in the race Denny complained that they had a loose yet plowing car. Darian went to work and with the combination of making the car better, and pit strategy was able to help Denny get to the front. Denny came through on the final restart with a dramatic last lap pass that would land him with a 3rd place finish.

This moves Denny to 4th in the points as he heads to Las Vegas next week.
