Denny Wins at AtlantaDenny Hamlin finished first for the second race in a row, and 4th for the season, moving into 7th in the Chase standings.

After running in first place for much of the race, Hamlin had dropped back into third, and looked to finish there with only 3 laps remaining, but a late race caution sent the leaders to pit row for one final stop.

Taking advantage of a stellar performance by the pit crew, Hamlin was able to get back on the track half a car length in front of Martin Truex to run in first place. Once the flag waved and the race resumed, second place Truex was soon passed by Jeff Gordon who gave Hamlin a run all the way to the finish line, but could not overtake the #11, and Hamlin took home the victory.

Hamlin moved up one spot to 7th in the NASCAR point standings following Atlanta. With only one race remaining before the start of the Chase, #11 may end up as the leader when all is said and done, because the points are recalculated and more weight is given to victories. Hamlin is the current victory leader with 4 wins. Two other drivers have 3 wins each.
